How it works.
VoiceSMS sets the standard for ease of use.
When you're done, press one button to send it immediately or review and re-record the message as many times as you want. Incoming messages are stored in flash memory on the handset and displayed in a visual inbox.
Message recording and playback start as soon as you press the button—there's no waiting to dial or connect.
And VoiceSMS is fully integrated with the handset contact list so you don't have to enter or remember any phone numbers.
VoiceSMS solves the first-adopter dilemma that faces most new communications systems by fully supporting legacy handsets, email recipients, and even connections to voicemail systems. So VoiceSMS users can communicate with all their contacts right away. VoiceSMS lets users create distribution lists and send messages to as many as 50 recipients simultaneously.
Messages to non-VoiceSMS handsets are delivered to a special voicemail system and the recipient is notified via a text message. The recipient simply calls the number in the text message and hears the recorded message.
VoiceSMS messages sent to email addresses are delivered as attachments. Recipients can answer messages with typed replies of up to 1800 characters, which are returned to the VoiceSMS inbox on the sender's mobile phone.
A developer API lets carriers and enterprises connect VoiceSMS to voicemail systems, enabling users to receive and reply to enterprise voicemail using their mobile handsets. Messages left on the voicemail system are immediately delivered directly to the handset's VoiceSMS inbox—recipients never have to call to check for messages. The recipient can then review and reply to messages using a visual interface.
